We had a blast performing for this wedding! Alvin loves rock songs and will like to incorporate into his wedding song list. With this in mind, we performed some soft rock and pop songs which inject a livelier vibe to the banquet. Featuring Leon Lim Yu Zhi on vocals, Bryan Lim on keys, Clarence Yeo on guitar and Charles Wong on vocal percussion.

Darrell and Meng Hooi

 /  bryan  /  meryl joan lee  /  peter huang  /  28 Aug 2016
We were very happy to be part of Darrell and Meng Hooi’ s wedding happening at W Singapore, Sentosa. This new venue is one of the dream wedding venue for many couples in recent years. With its exclusive yacht sail by entrance for the couple, the guests are easily impressed, not to mention their luxurious yet modern interior deco of the hotel.
The bride, Meng Hooi, has been liaising with us since the mid of this year. We have work on the details together from the march in to the song list. One of the highlights of the wedding was a surprise dance performance for the guests, from the couple’s friends. The song chosen was Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran. As Meng Hooi has not picked her second march in song, she was wondering if she could integrate this song for her march in before the dance item without interrupting the flow of the song.
Our team ensure her that the flexibility of a live band is that as we are playing live, we can sing and play the song to match the dancing. This minimises rehearsing with the dancers and the band so the dancers could practise dancing at their free time with the music they had on hand. The only rehearsal we had was during soundcheck and it was ample.
This march in was also possible as we have experienced musicians playing for us. From the planning to the execution of the song, it was a team effort – Meryl, Bryan and Peter. After understanding the needs from Meng Hooi, feedbacks from the musicians are important as they have a wealth of experience to foresee what will work and what will not. So a note to future couples planning for their wedding, share your ideas with us and we will like to help you make it happen!
We will like to thank Meng Hooi for being such a darling to work with! We hope that the wedding was perfect for them and we will like to wish them a blissful marriage!
Testimonial from the couple :
Awesome performance by the musicians. My husband and I both loved the band’s rendition of the 2nd march in song. The transition from the march in to the live dance performance was flawless. We loved it!
Thank you
Meng Hooi

What a grand wedding!
The couple had specially engaged 2 bands to play side by side. One specializing in malay and english jazz numbers, and our band for mandarin and pop numbers!
We were especially impressed by the stage backdrop made up of fresh greeneries to create an alfresco look within the comforts of the grand ballroom!

Zheng Chen and Janice

Delighted to have sang and emcee-d for Zheng Chen and Janice’s wedding at Capella – they are such a beautiful and filial couple and I’m sure with such loving families they will go on to create a loving family themselves!

They specifically chose some of their favorite songs and I specially learnt them for their big day! XO by John Mayer, I Choose You by Sara Bareilles…

Zheng Chen managed to learn some Hokkien to thank Janice’s grandparents, so right after his speech I decided to start with a Hokkien song 家后 and so many people at the VIP table in front of me were crying I nearly cried too, and couldn’t sing the last line of my chorus properly!!

Thanks for having us on your special day!

What a fun bunch at Ruby and JJ’s wedding lunch! These crazy-fun relatives of the couple must have been on alcohol high, they were dancing along to the music and having a ball of fun at the wedding. They even sang and clapped along to Kexin’s singing as if it was at a concert, ending the afternoon on a high!
